“Sketch fast, sketch often.”
This is the #1 piece of feedback I have always tried to impart on new hires, and co-op programs I have worked with over the last decade. My goal in ideation is to move from thought, to computer aided design (CAD software) as quickly as possible. Developing many options/details fast, has proven to be far more beneficial to the depth and variety of concepts. I use pen & paper to consolidate my ideas, then pivot into building out spatially correct files I can review with stakeholders.
